searcher will be the guest
speaker at the opening
luncheon of Temple Israel
Sisterhood to be held noon
Monday in Herman Hall at
Temple Israel.
His appearance is spon-
sored •by the temple's
Sophie and Daniel M. Hass
Memorial Lecture Fund as a
tribute to the memory of
Sophie Hass, past sister-
hood president.
Dr. Berk is an adjunct

versity of New York in Al-
bany, where he teaches the
Holocaust to faculty in the
area school districts. He has
been a visiting associate
professor at several univer-
sities.
Dr. Berk has also been
commentator, writer,
and director of a radio
program entitled "Com-
munist Insight," which
weekly
presented a
analysis of developments
taking place in the Com-
munist world.
At present, Dr. Berk is
working on a study of Rus-
sian Jewry between 1881
and 1882, as well as a pro- -
gram in oral history which'
attempts to reconstruct
Central and Eastern Euro-
pean Jewish life prior to
World War II by recording
memories of European-born
Jews.
His topic will be "Anti-
Semitism Then and Now."
The luncheon is com-
