14 years "of dedicated effort

Bennett will speak on
"On Being Different." The
Bar Mitzva of Jeffrey

Prior to assuming his
present post in 1978,
Bennett served as direc-

mount Temple, Cleve-
land, for 11 years. He is a
past president of the Na-
tional Association of
Temple Educators and
serves on its executive
board.
He is associated with
numerous professional
organizations, has received
many awards for profes-
sional contributions and
has written extensively in
the field of Jewish educa-

Bennett holds a BSS de-

Cantor Asher has already
retired, but will continue to
serve during a period of
transition through mid-
October. His successor,
Rabbi Joel Wittstein, began
duties as educational direc-
tor on July 1.
Zionists Banned
LONDON — The Inter-
national Council of Jews
from Czechoslovakia re-
ports that Paragraph 91 of
Czech criminal law links
"militant Zionist organiza-
tions with nationalist ten-
dencies with a reactionary
ideology including anti-
Communism."
The law says this makes
Zionism "a tool of im-.
perialism," a high treason
offense punishable by a
prison sentence of 12-15
years, or the death sen-
tence.
