In the midst of Arab at-
tempt to frustrate by force
the implementation of the
UN rulings of 1947, the
representatives of the
Jewish Agency and the

Jewish population of the
country proclaim, on the eve
of the British evacuation,

Libyan erronsts
Received U.S.
Military Training

NEW YORK — Ten men
who believed they were in-
filtrating the Libyan gov-
ernment on behalf of the
Central Intelligence
Agetcy (CIA) spent the
summer of 1977 training
terrorists in that country,
according to the New York
Times. The CIA denies any
involvement in the mission.
Nine of the 10 were re-
tired memberd of the Army
Special Forces, better
known as the Green Berets,
and the 10th, who recruited
the others, was a master
sergeant still on active duty
with the unit.
Their belief that the mis-
sion was intended by the
CIA as an infiltration of the
government of Muammar
Qaddafi was apparently
shared by ranking Green
Beret officers. Federal in-
vestigators believe the mis-
sion had at least tacit CIA
approval.
