Akiva Names Rabbi Shluker
Its New Associate Principal

Yeshivat Akiva an-
, nounces the appointment of
Rabbi David Shluker as
associate principal.
Rabbi Shluker comes to
the Detroit Jewish commu-
nity from Trenton, N.Y.,
where he has been principal
and director of Trenton He-
brew Academy, a nursery-
eighth grade institution,
since 1973.
- In addition to his ad-
ministrative duties at Tren-
ton Hebrew( Academy,
Rabbi Shlukei contributed
a weekly column for the
Jewish Community Report
and participated in commu-
nity seminars and lectures.
He also is a member of
the Educators Council of
Yeshiva University, the
National Association of
Elementary School Prin-
cipals, Board of Jewish
Education Association of
Day School Principals of
General Studies and the
Rabbinical Council of
America.
Rabbi Shluker has
smikha from Mirrer
Yeshiva in Brooklyn as well
as from the chief rabbi of
Jerusalem. He also holds a
BA degree in philosophy
from Brooklyn College
where he was graduated
cum laude and with an MS
degree in educational- ad-

ministration from Yeshiva
University. In addition,
Rabbi Shluker has com-
pleted all his course work
for an ED from Rutgers
University.

Coffee Peach
Frappe

3 tbsps. Instant Yuban, or
Sanka coffee
116 cups cold water -
1 can (16 ox.) sliced peaches,
chilled!
Vs tsp. nutmeg
1 pint vanilla Ice cream
Crushed Ice
'Or use 1 pkg. (10 oz.) Birds
Eye quick thaw peaches,
thawed; makes about 4 cups.
•"Or use 2 cups cold water and
1 tbsp. Imitation rum flavor.
Dissolve instant coffee in
cold water In a medium bowl;
stir in bourbon and set aside.
Reserve 5 small peach slices
for garnish, if desired. Com-
bine remaining peaches with
syrup, the nutmeg and about
11/2 cups of the ice cream in
blender container. Blend at
high speed until smooth. Add
to coffee mixture; blend well.
Serve In tall glasses over
crushed ice or pour Into punch
cups. Top each serving with a
small scoop of the remaining
Ice cream. Garnish with re-
served peach slices and mint
sprigs, if desired. Makes about
5 cups or 5 large or 10 small
servings.
