Vocational Schools in Is-
rael. Since their founding
50 years ago, Amal schools

national economy.
There are now 50 schools

throughout Israel. Special
priority is given to newly-
developed areas, mostly
populated by immigrants
from the Islamic countries
and the Soviet Union. The
Amal schools offer instruc-
tion in electronics, auto
mechanics, aviation
mechanics, draftmanship,
textile skills, carpentry,
locksmithing, home eco-
nomics and other trades.
The scholarship fund
also provides stipends at
the university level and
research grants for sci-
ence, medicine, social
studies and engineering.
Over 55,000 scholarships
and educational grants
have already been given.
