Arab Councils
Reject Strike Bid

ACRE (JNI) — The
chairmen , of eight Arab
local councils have decided
that "the best way to resolve
our financial difficulties is
not to go on strike, but to
persuade the government to
meet our demands through
friendly - negotiations," re-
ported Fasuta Village
Council Chairman Shawaki
Kouri.
Earlier this month the
National Committee of
Chairmen of Arab local
Councils decided to strike if
the government rejected
their requests for more
grants and budgets.
