Schools is currently enroll-
ing students for the new
school year. There will be
continued experimentation
with the Melton Hebrew
program, the United He-
brew Schools Bible program
and the Melton holiday pro-
gram.
New material for the first
grade has been developed by
Mrs. Rachel Carmi, a
member of the United He-
brew Schools staff. Dr.
Gerald A. Teller, Mrs. Bea
Kriechman and Mrs. Carmi
have developed new mate-
rials in the field of Bible.
The UHS system is con-
tinuing its informal pro-
grams, such as the winter
camp, Happy Hebrew Days;
the summer camp program,
Kfar Ivri; parent education
and a new Bar Mitzva pro-

The Minneapolis Federa-
tion for Jewish Service, join-
ing a growing number of
federations helping local
synagogues, has approved
educational grants of more
than $76,000 to three Min-
neapolis congregations. The
grants are restricted to in-
novative educational pro-
grams, the Federation said.
