During World War II, while her husband served in the U.S. Navy on the west coast, Mrs. Meisner became actively involved in the Hadassah region there and was elected an officer of the organization. Mrs. Meisner was given the honor of performing the "wet splash" on one of the Navy's vessels. She was honored with her husband at the opening of the St. Lawrence Seaway at Montreal. Her husband was for many years chairman of the Detroit-Wayne County Port Authority Commis- sion.
