He's composed more than 3,500 songs from classical to pop. A de facto graduate of the Fats Waller school of stride piano, Guarnieri impro- vises on the sound, dropping into and out of 5/4 time, playing jazz in a 3/4 waltz meter and generally having a ball with a selection of songs that goes from the "Maple Leaf Rag" of the 1890s to modern ballads.
