Sample recipes follow: BLINTZ SUZETTE 1 package (15 oz.) Golden Fro- zen Fruit Blintzes Butter or margarine 1 /2 cup sugar 1 /3 cup orange juice 3 tbsps. each orange-flavored liqueur and brandy In skillet, cook blintzes as di- rected on package; remove and keep warm. Add 3 tbsps. butter to skillet; stir in sugar, juice and liqueur. Simmer until slightly thickened. Return blintzes to skillet; spoon sauce over blintzes. Add brandy; heat. Carefully light with match. Serve when flame dies. Makes 6 blintzes. * * * PEACH BLINTZES 1 package (15 oz.) Golden Fro- zen Cheese Blintzes Butter or margarine 1 can (83 /4 oz.) sliced peaches in heavy syrup, drained, re- serving syrup 2 tsps. cornstarch 1 /4 cup orange juice 2 tsps. lemon juice Chopped pecans In skillet, cook blintzes as di- rected on package; remove and keep warm. Add 1 tsp. but- ter to skillet; melt. Blend peach syrup with cornstarch; stir in orange and lemon juice. Pour into skillet; heat, stirring until slightly thickened and clear. Add peaches to sauce; heat. To serve, spoon sauce over blintzes; top with pecans. Makes 6 blintzes. Carmel Wine Offers Recipes Carmel Wine Co., Inc., has made available recipes for Labor Day cookouts using its Avdat Red Wine and Vin Blanc Wine. The kosher recipes follow: BARBECUED AVDAT RIBS OF BEEF 3 lbs. beef short ribs 2 tsps. salt 1 tsp. pepper 1 tsp. paprika 1 tsp. dry mustard 1 tbsp. sugar 1 tbsp. Worchestershire sauce 1/2 cup catsup 3 /4 cup Carmel Avdat Red Wine 1/2 cup minced onions 1 clove garlic minced Brown the ribs in a heated casserole or dutch oven, pour off fat. Combine all the remain- ing ingredients and add to ribs. Barbecue. Continue to baste, turning the meat. Total - 15 minutes on each side. OLD ISRAELI FRUIT 'N' FLAN 1 cup sugar 3 tbsps. corn starch 1/2 tsp. salt 1 cup Carmel Vin Blanc Wine 1 egg, well beaten 2 /3 cup orange juice 2 tbsps. soft margarine (un- salted) 1 cup seedless grapes 1 cup sliced strawberries (fresh or frozen) 2 peaches peeled and sliced (fresh or frozen) Blend the sugar, starch, and salt together in a small sauce- pan. Mix in the white wine. Stir- ring constantly, bring mixture to a boil and cook for 5 minutes or until clear and thick. Re- move•from heat and blend in beaten eggs. Return to heat and cook one minute longer. Add orange juice and mar- garine. Cool. Arrange the fruits in layers in 8 serving dishes. Pour cooled wine sauce over fruit. Chill. Top honors went to Jessie Shapiro and Betty Passman, who have given more than 6,000 hours of service. Honored for 3,000 to 5,000 hours of service were Jean Arkin, Rose Shore, Bess Dutsch and Shirley Milinsky. Presenting awards and congratulations to the hon- orees were Auxiliary President Marcia Tanzman, JHA Executive Director Charles Wolfe, JHA President Marvin Fleis- chman and Rowena How- ard, director of volunteers.
