ABA Certifies
Oral Roberts U.

NEW ORLEANS — The
American Bar Association
on Wednesday voted 147-
127 to certify Oral Roberts
University law school, de-
spite the school's require-
ment that students must
sign the honor code. The
code recognizes Christ as
the savior and pledges the
students to adopt a funda-
mental Christian philos-
ophy in their daily life.
The ABA had twice de-
clined to certify Oral
Roberts law school amid
charges that the require-
ments for the students were
discriminatory and anti-
Semitic.

Libyan Missiles
for Lebanon

NEW YORK — The
Lebanese government has
accepted an offer from Libya
of a ground-to-air missile
system to defend against Is-
raeli air strikes, it was re-
ported Wednesday.
The Libyans will give the
Lebanese Russian SAM6
missiles.
Meanwhile, a Lebanese
newspaper reported that
President Elias Sarkis will
visit the U.S. in November
at the invitation of
President Ronald Reagan.
