Changes in U.S.

Edward Ajlouny, the
Bloomfield Hills attorney
who was elected president of
the American Federation of
Ramallah, Palestine last
month, would like to end the
"Jewish-Israeli strangle-
hold on U.S. policy in the
Middle East."

Ajlouny set that goal at
the federation's recent con-
vention in Houston. The
group claims to be the
largest and most influential
Palestinian organization
outside the Middle East.

Showing of 'Best Boy' Movie
to Benefit Retarded Program

The Jewish Association
for Retarded Citizens will
sponsor a special showing of
the Academy Award-
winning film "Best Boy"
Sept. 24 at Northland Thea-
ter.
The entire theater will be
turned over to the organiza-
tion for the screening and
afterglow, to which the
community is invited.
"Best Boy," a documen-
tary film which received an
Oscar last year, tells the
story of Philly, a 52-year-old
retarded man who lives
with his parents. His tenta-
tive steps toward leading
his own life are shown in
glimpses both joyful and
poignant, and reviewers
have described the film as a
masterpiece.
Proceeds from the sale
of tickets will help sup-
port the JARC's program
of services to retarded
persons, including de-
velopment of group
homes, assistance to
families requiring coun-
seling and other services,
and supervision of an
apartment program for
those able to live on their
own.

Wachler.
Regular, patron and
sponsor tickets are being
sold by the organization.
