Mrs. Alpiner
U.S. Inaction
During Holocaust

NEW YORK — The lack
of U.S. involvement in pre-
venting the Holocaust is the
subject of an independently
produced documentary film
by Laurence Jarvik.
"Who Shall Live and Who
Shall Die?" includes inter-
views with officials respon-
sible for U.S. government
policy and newsreel footage
of protests by Jewish groups
in New York and Washing-
ton.
In the film War Refugee
Board officials explain the
American refusal to bomb
Auschwitz, the failure of
negotiations with the SS for
the release of the Jews, the
refusal of President
Roosevelt to set up rescue
havens in this country and
the obstructionist policies of
the State and War depart-
ments.
Jarvik's effort is the re-
sult of nearly three years of
personal research. He pro-
duced and directed the
documentary through Blue
Light Films, his New York
based production company.

IRENE ALPINER

Mrs. Irene Alpiner has
been named administrative
assistant to Rabbi Norman
Kahn, executive vice
president of Yeshivath Beth

Women's chapter, also
