, Joseph N. Katz, 79, of Migliiitown, Pa., chairman of the board and founder of Empire Kosher Poultry, Inc., died July 20. Katz was the first to de- velop the concept of"portion control" or weight con- trolled sizing in the kosher poultry industry. He was an early in- novator in the freezing of poultry products and was the first to discover that mass production techniques could be used in the process- ing of high quality kosher ducts as early as 1937, in ,Louis, Mo. (" Edward Finkel Edward Finkel, a veteran of the Korean War, died July 16 at age 49. A former Detroiter, Mr. Finkel resided in Ft. Wayne, Ind., at the time of his death. He was employed at Ft. Wayne Truck Parts. He was a member of Bnai Jacob Synagogue and Achduth Vesholom Con- gregation in Ft. Wayne.
