Estimated at $25,000, the
stolen items included Torah
crowns, silver breast plates
and Torah pointers. Nine-
teen pieces were taken.
According to synagogue
President Meyer Levin, the
pieces were decorative
items, but the synagogue
has no funds to replace
them.
Police said the thieves
gained access to the
building by prying open a
rear window in the build-
ing.
Temple Beth El recently
was the scene of two bur-
glaries. Some of its ceremo-
nial objects have been re-
covered.
