BACK AT EX-
CALIBUR, Franklin and
Northwestern, is the Larry
Nozero Quartet . . . Tues-
days through Saturdays
. . . after their Montreux,
Switzerland Jazz Festival
stint . . . good news for fol-
lowers of this fine musical
group.
Excalibur is also open
Sundays from 5 p.m. to 12
midnight . . . serving its
regular menu.
Some of the Detroit Ti-
gers aren't staying idle dur-
ing the baseball strike . . .
Last Sunday at Harrison
High Field on 12 Mile, Ex-
calibur employees and cus-
tomers played those at
Ramada Inn of Southfield
. . . Excalibur had a bit of
an edge with some of the
customers who played . . .
including Champ Summers,
Milt Wilcox, Mick Kelleher
and George Cappuzello.
It was a double-header,
with the Excalibur gals
playing the lassies of
Ramada Inn in the first
game.
GOOD WAITRESS
DEPT.. . . Beverly Perilli
. . . at Gallery Restaurant,
10 Mile, east of Evergreen
. . . Very personable, smil-
ing and lots of know-how.
LOUIE MARR and his
gypsy quartet plus
songstress Sharon
Williams, open at Al's
Scotch 'n Sirloin, Greenfield
and Northwestern, this
Tuesday, playing weekly
Saturdays from 8:30 p.m.
CUSTOMERS CAN
HAVE their own "wine
room" now at Golden Mush-
room, 10 Mile and South-
field . . . No chance any-
more of place being out of
the wine you liked while
there another time . . .
Folks can buy three or more
for storage and the bottles
are kept in a temperature-
controlled, insured wine
room . . . People have their
own name on each bottle
and receive a card to show
the waitress . . . Quite a
new status symbol . . . hav-
ing your own wine available
. . . and your name on the
bottles.
FIRST ANNIVER-
SARY of Sneaky Treats in
Farrell Shopping Plaza,
Southfield Rd. and 12 1/2
Mile, isn't the only thing
being celebrated at the
popular diet pastry shop
. . . Sneaky Treats is now
featuring a complete line of
natural baked goods . . . in
answer to a numerous
amount of requests for the
natural products.
Even natural birthday
cakes are now being made
at Sneaky Treats.
IN TOKYO, says Ray
Abrams, it's called Beniha-
na's of New York . . . In
America, the Japanese res-
taurants are called Beniha-
na's of Tokyo.
TALENT NIGHT could
be the thing at Jakks, 10
Mile and Greenfield . . .
every Monday night . . .
with Ronnie Phillips at the
piano bar . . . Never know
who shows up to sing or play
the washboard that sounds
like a bass fiddle . . . the
gourd, calavos, etc. . .
Plenty of talent comes
around on other nights, also
. . . with Carl Steger at the
piano bar Tuesday through
Saturday.
ERNIE NEY is now gen-
eral manager at Lelli's on
Woodward.
SOME OF THOSE uni-
forms waitresses are forced
to wear sure do them very
little justice . . . In fact, you
wouldn't recognize many in
regular dress or bathing
suits.
WAS FIFTH anniver-
sary recently of Crabbie
Joe's on Michigan Ave. in
Dearborn . . . owned by Joe
and Nan Bird . . . Birthday
cake was given with all
dinners during the four-day
celebration.
INVITATION COMES
. . "The Lord Chamber-
lain is commanded by The
Queen and The Duke of
Edinburgh to invite you to
the marriage of His Royal
Highness The Prince of
Wales with The Lady Diana
Spencer in St. Paul's
Cathedral on Wednesday,
