North American
Families Part
of WZO Program

JERUSALEM (JTA) —
Fourteen families from the
U.S. and Canada have ar-
rived in the northern towns
of Safed and Carmiel to take
part in the volunteering
program arranged by the
World Zionist Organiza-
tion's Dor Hemshech sec-
tion.
They are to work half a
day in Jewish National
Fund forestry projects, in
nearby hospitals and in
municipal clinics, and de-
vote the other half of their
days to studying Hebrew
and learning about Israel.
The long-range goal is
that these families should
make aliya and settle per-
manently in the Galilee.
Each family is "adopted" by
an Israeli family with simi-
lar interests.
