RAMAT-GAN — The
first academic chair for re-
search into human modifia-
bility and development of
intelligence has been inau-
gurated at Bar-Ilan Univer-
sity in honor of Dr. Luis Al-
berto Machado, Venezuelan
minister for the develop-
ment of human intelligence.
Among the activities
planned for the chair are
special courses in education
and psychology and later in
social sciences and
inology, study days,
erences, research, pub-
lications, lectures and pro-
vision of scholarships for
students to pursue inten-
sively pertinent subjects.

Tourist Patrol

TEL AVIV — High school
students studying tourism
will participate in a new
Tourist Patrol operating in
the Tel Aviv-Jaffa area.
The youngsters, wearing
distinctive orange and
black hats, patrol the main
tourist centers in the after-
noon and evening hours,
giving out information, an-
swering questions and reg-
istering complaints.



Hebrew U. Dean

JERUSALEM Prof.
Yehoshua Beh-Arieh has
been elected dean of the Fa-
culty of Humanities at the
Hebrew University of
Jerusalem for a three-year
term. He succeeds Prof.
Nehemia Levtzion.
The new dean is a profes-
sor of geography, specializ-
ing in the cultural and his-
torical geography_of Israel.

ST. LOUIS (JTA) — A
professorship in Holocaust
studies is being established
at Washington University
with an anonymous gift, ac-
cording to Chancellor
William Danforth. He said a
national search will be
made for a scholar to hold
the professorship as a

ence faculty.
