Editor, The Jewish News: In June 1944, America. and British -officials knew that at Auschwitz the Nazis were exterminating 12,000 men, women and children every day — and yet they did nothing! Repeatedly they were asked to bomb those hellish facilities out of existence, but still they did nothing! In 1944 there was no Jewish state that would find a way to wipe such a scourge from the earth and save its people. But there is a Jewish state now. The prime re- sponsibility, above all else, of a country is to protect the lives of its people. That is what Israel has done in de- stroying the capability of Iraq to produce nuclear bombs. It was no secret that the nuclear facility in Iraq was intended to manufacture nuclear bombs to be used to incinerate hundreds of thousands of Israelis. French and Italian govern- ment officials surely knew the purpose the Iraqi nu- clear program, of which they were essential, was to make bombs — but Iraqi oil and Iraqi orders for weapons was more impor- tant to them than the pre- vention of another Holocaust of Jews. • 400 ft. private beach • I.J. So that I will be able to give my gracious thanks to the Lord. Hoping he hears my prayer and conveys his blessing.
