The Atzmaut list, headed by Prof. Ezra Sohar, wants to aboligh income tax in order to make everyone want to work harder. It also wants to abolish all sub- sidies and grants to in- dustry. Sohar contends that in 1979 the Treasury collected IS8.6 billion in income tax and distributed IS10 billion in grants and subsidies to industry. The best way to end cheating and "undeclared income" is to abolish income tax, says Sohar. "We have carefully exam- ined President Reagan's economic program to re- vitalize America and find that the budget reductions and tax cut proposals do provide the combination of reductions in government spending and restoration of incentives necessary to end the tragic impact of infla- tion and stagnation on all Americans. "The growth of govern- ment and the increasing tax burden caused by inflation have significantly altered the economic climate that encourages growth and risk taking. President Reagan's economic program is a first major step in moving America back to a path of non-inflationary growth and prosperity. "We as Jewish Republi- cans, enthusiastically sup- port the President's eco- nomic program of budget reductions and tax cuts and encourage., Close who agree with 9ur position to contact their Senators and Congressmen to enlist their votes for the program." .
