named Max Shimansky as
its new cantor.
Cantor Shimansky was
educated at Yeshiva Uni-
versity High School,
Hunter College, Brooklyn
College and Crown Heights
Yeshiva.
He was trained by Ab-

tutors, and at Yeshiva Can-
torial Training Institute,

Adat Shalom Names Yost,
Its New Executive Director
Alan Yost has been ap-
pointed executive director
of Adat Shalom Synagogue,
it was announced by Sol
Moss,, president of the
synagogue.
Prior to his appointment,
Yost was the Adat Shalom
youth director. Previously,
he was a camp counselor,
youth adviser, summer pro-
gram director at the Jewish
Community Center and di-
rector of adult and camping
services at the Jewish

Hebrew Course

Some 470 universities
throughout the world repor-
tedly teach Hebrew, includ-

Zealand and Japan.
Rabbi Alan Lucas, assis-
tant rabbi at Cong. Shaarey
Zedek, has accepted the
position of rabbi at Cong.
Beth Judah in' Ventnor,
N.J. He will assume his new
post in July.
At Shaarey Zedek, Rabbi
Lucas was involved with
adult education, the reli-
gious school, youth activi-
ties, the Chavurah groups,
the affiliates, the PTO and
family education.
The congregation will bid
farewell to Rabbi Lucas at
Shabat services 9 a.m.
Saturday.
