HIS RETIREMENT
_after 25 years as a Wayne
County bailiff "is the end of
a chapter in Bill's life" . . .
said Judge Ben Friedman
c-'• • . He was referring to Bill
1,.. Freedman beginning a new
1:Te . . . and no doubt it will
be as a probable candidate
Tor Oak Park City Council.
The testimonial attended
by over 300 people at Oak
P Community Center
1 4id Bill for his many
yea.- as bailiff . . . but also
for his years of helping
people . . . Being a council
candidate will make a very
interesting chapter indeed
. . . He's a fighter for sure
. . . like the Sen. McCar-
thy days when he worked
' with writer Drew Pearson
in uncovering un-American
ctivities . . . or of late
working to help uncover
and closing Nazi
bookstores.
The retirement party h0

k. . Nobody cared that
kosher caterer Henry
Sperber couldn't do his
thing properly . . . and had
.to use paper dishes and
plastic dinnerware . . .
Eric Rosenow and his Con-
tinentals were good . . .
and people listened to the
_.?lowing words about Bill
F_ Freedman . . . that told of
his being even more of quite
a guy than many of the 300
realized.
MUSIC FAILED to
show up . . . but the vows
went on as Terry McMullen,
,vith Jack Stein at Add 'n
Type on Schaefer, took time
out for an "I Do" session
with Bonnie (Graves) . . .
No, Jack and Terry _don't
sell musical typewriters.
CHARLES CHUPACK,
son of Julius and Ruth

hole, par three, at Ever-

Chuck used an eight iron for
his 145-yard ace.

"Happy- Birthday" on 'his

the number one word in

respect . . . B. B.'s testimo-
nial was also a tribute to his
leadership as a father.
