NEW YORK — Rabbi
Harry Halpern, adjunct pro-
fessor of pastoral psychiatry
at the Jewish Theological
Seminary of America, died
June 10 at age 82.
Rabbi Halpern was the
past president of the New
York Board of Rabbis and
the Rabbinical Assembly of
America.
He also was the chairman
of the rabbinic cabinet of the
seminary, where he first
was a visiting professor of
homiletics, before becoming
adjunct professor of pastoral
psychiatry. He was a
member of the executive
committee of the New York
Division of the National
Conference of Christians
and Jews.
