Barrister Mort Eskin's very competent secretary had high individual game, high average and her team took first place . . . It was a wall-to-wall crowded opening . . . plus tables and chairs outside in the mall with a two-piece combo (flute and guitar) giving out soft, pleasure- able strains . . . Champagne galore, mounds of fresh strawberries, cheeses and pastries . . . plus three gals having Mario gave them that new trend Wash and Wear Look . . . as he ran his nimble fingers through their hair with delicate grace. Mario formerly had Bitonti's in Birmingham .. . and Max wgs at Crimpers in Farmington . . . the latter a salon which both men at one time owned jointly . . . Remember back in 1960 when you broke your elbow while playing softball at the Bert School Field and wore a cast for six weeks? . . . When summer of 1961 came, your wife Shirley warned you not to play any ball yet, and even Dr. Harold Gehring told you to take it easy. The first game of the sea- son came and sneaking out of the house without Shirley knowing, you were back at your short stop position at the same Bert Field . . . The first ball pitched came straight at you . . . You stuck out your bare hand and that was it — back in the cast it went . . . this time, Leo, you started the season with it on! QUICKIES . . .
