to Direct USY

Rhonda Price has been
elected president of the
Flint United Synagogue
Youth group.
Other officers are Gail
Himelhoch, Michele Wis-
nudel and Melissa Weis-
berg, vice presidents; Todd
Schafer, treasurer;
Elizabeth Binder and Jac-
kie Himelhoch, secretaries.
In addition, Richard
Siegel and Marla Ring are
in charge of membership
and Wendy Brenner and
Noelene Brin are in charge
of ruach and regalia.
The group will go to Mac-
kinac Island Thursday.

SPACE Lists July Agenda

SPACE, a community
service for widowed and di-
vorced men and women and
their families, has an-
nounced its July schedule.
The sessions, which all
begin at 8 p.m., will be held
as follows:
July 1, 8, 15, 22, 29, drop-
in discussion for men and
women; July 6, divorce sup-
port series for men and
women, to continue July 13,
20 and 27; July 7, widowed
support series for men and
women, to continue July 14,
21 and 28; July 9, mature
widowed drop-in for men
and women; and July 28,
young widowed drop-in for
men and women.

Flint Federation
to Hold Meeting

The Flint Jewish Federa-
tion will have its annual
meeting and elections 7
p.m. June 28 at Flint's
Temple Beth El.
The evening will feature
talks by U.S. Sen. Donald
Riegel, Jr., and by U.S.
Representative Dale Kil-
dee. Awards will be pre-
sented, and annual reports
read.
Mimi Goldstein is the
chairman of the meeting.
The community is invited.

Senior Honored

The Senior Friendship
Club will honor Dora
Winegarden noon Thursday
at Flint's Temple Beth El.
Luncheon will be served.
Mrs. Winegarden's
daughter, Trudy Galanter,

'stitute of mathematics was
inaugurated recently at Tel
Aviv University to serve as
a center for absorbing im-
migrant mathematicians,
particularly from the Soviet
Union, and as a focal point
for the advancement of
mathematical studies in Is-
rael.
Among the eminent Rus-
sian immigrant math-
ematicians on the faculty of
Tel Aviv University to be
housed at the institute are:
Prof. Ilia Piatetski-Shapiro,
recent recipient of the Is-
raeli Prize; Prof. Israel
Gochberg, incumbent of the
newly inaugurated Nathan
and Lily Silver Chair for
Mathematical Analysis and
Operator Theory; Prof. Ale-
xander Voronel, Profs. Vit-
aly and David Milman, and
Prof. Gregory Sivachinsky.
