Caplan Family Will Hold
International Reunion Here

The Caplan family will
host its first international
reunion June 19-21 at the
Michigan Inn. Family
members from many states,
England and Canada will be
attending, as well as 58
cousins and aunts who live
in the Metropolitan Detroit
area.
The idea of a family reu-
nion originated two years
ago after a visit by cousins
to a Bat Mitzva in Rhode Is-
land. The family sent ques-
tionnaires to distant
cousins and held a 15-
family garage sale to help
fund the event.
The family traces its roots
to 1880 when Samuel and
Hannah Caplan fled Russia
