JERUSALEM (JNI) —
The U.S. "fully supports"
recognition of the Magen
David Adorn emblem by In-
ternational Red Cross
bodies, President Ronald
Reagan cabled Louis
Rosenberg, national
president of the American
Red Magen David for Israel.
Magen David Adorn, Re-
agan noted, "has worked
tirelessly, bringing aid and
medical care to the victims
of war, conflict and acci-
dent, and performing a very
important service in Israel's
unceasing efforts to im-
prove the welfare of its citi-
zens."
Sine 1949, the Interna-
tional Red Cross has re-
peatedly refused to add the
Star of David to its official
emblems; the red cross, the
Iranian lion and sun and the
Moslem crescent. Thus,
Magen David Adom re-
mains the only non-member
national first-aid society.
