Previously, Schub won first prize in the WQXR piano contest in New York City and was the first prize winner in a competition sponsored by the National Federa- tion of Music Clubs, of which the Music Study Club is an affiliate. Schub also toured with the Marlboro (Vt.) Music Festival, founded by the late cellist Pablo Casals and other music circle notables.
