Cantor Chaim Najman will
appear as the soloist and
Rabbi Irwin Groner will
provide the narration.
The son of a cantor, Dr.
Gold received his musical
education and advanced de-
grees at Boston College and
Harvard University. He has
conducted at Tanglewood
and appeared as guest con-
ductor with the Boston
Pops, with which he con-
ducted a premiere of his
work.
A professor at Nasson
College in Maine, Dr. Gold
has composed works for
chorus and orchestra as
commissions for American
synagogues. Among his
compositions are: "Hag-
gada," "Songs of Praise,"
"Sayings of the Fathers"
and a new service for •festi-
vals.

Israel Defense Forces will
show a videotape on the
manufacture and use of Is-
rael's new army tank, the
Merkava, at a breakfast of
the Metropolitan Council of
Young Israel Sunday at
Young Israel of Oak-Woods.
Col. Shamir serves as
liaison officer to the U. S.
Army Tank Command.
A minyan will precede
the breakfast at 8:45 a.m.,
followed by the program at
9:30 a.m.

Young Israel of Green-
field will have a siyum 7:40
p.m. Saturday, following
Minha. The Tractacte Bava
Metzia will be completed.
Rev. Aron Grossbard will
