Lew Kruger, Benefited Israel, Owned Cleaning Tool Firm
Lew Kruger, retired
president of Kruger Prod-
ucts, died May 15 at age 72.
Born in western Canada,
Mr. Kruger settled in De-
troit in 1923 where he pur-
sued a variety of trades
prior to joining his father,
the late Isaac Kruger, at
Ford Motor Co. as a tool and
die engineer.
In 1953, with his brother
Max, he founded Kruger
Products, a company
engaged in the manufacture
of a line of specialized
paint-cleaning tools. Sub-
sequently the company di-
versified into plastics and
metal fabrication which led
to the manufacture of parts
required for the early space
missions.
Kruger Products had
plants and licensees

Dr. Charles A. Braun, a
professor of Spanish at the
Oakland Community Col-
lege since 1968, died May 20
at age 63.
Born in Flint, Dr. Braun
was previously a Spanish
teacher at Mumford High
School. He earned a BS in
education at Wayne State
University and a master's
degree in education at WSU
in 1948 and a PhD degree in
higher education at WSU in
1964.
He was in the Air Force
during World War II and
was a prisoner of war in
Germany for 11/2 years. He
was a member of Disabled
American Veterans,
American Association of
University Professors,
American Association of
Teachers of Spanish and
Portuguese And he directed
many annual student tours
to Mexico and Spain.
He leaves his wife, Joan;
three sons, James, Robert
and Laurence; two daugh-
ters, Susan and Miriam
(Mimi); a brother, Fred; and
a sister, Irene Epstein.
Services 10 a.m. today at Ira
Kaufman Chapel.
Esther Sibrack
Esther J. Sibrack, a
pianist and piano teacher
who was active in music cir-
cles, died May 14 at age 59.
A native Detroiter, Mrs.
Sibrack was the daughter of
the late Mr. and Mrs. Jacob
Chicorel, the founders of the
Sephardic Jewish commu-
nity in Detroit.
Mrs. Sibrack attended
and was • graduated from
many music institutes. She
held membership in Music
Study Club, Detroit Musi-
cians League, the Michigan
Association of Music
Teachers and the Sephardic
Community of Detroit.
She leaves her husband,
Harvey; two sons, Dr. Laur-
ence of Danbury, Conn., and
Dr. Gerald of. Chapel Hill,
N.C.; four brothers, Max
Chicorel of Pompano Beach,
Fla., and Albert Chicorel,
David Chicorel and Ralph
Chicorel of Whitefish Bay,
Wis.; a sister, Mrs. Marcel
(Shirley) Behar; and two
grandchildren.

Yehudah, Harper Hospital
Auxiliary and was active in

Jerusalem.
She is survived by her
husband, Louis; a son,

Fischer of Israel; a sister,
Mrs. Helen Rosenfeld; and
three granddaughters.
