Max, Abe and Sol Nus- baum will be remembered for their "dedication to numerous projects and causes" when the Vaad marks its anniversary at 6 !! Max, who was born 'in 1897 and died in 1970, ar- rived in Detroit in 1916. During his years in this area, he was an active member of Bnai Brith, Mizrachi and the Jewish Welfare Federation, of which he was a director. He was a founder of Young Israel of Oak- Woods and a past president of the congre- gation. His community work in- cluded helping to organize the City of Hope and active support of the Folks Shula, which helped Jewish im- migrants begin new lives. Citrin Honorary President Peres Invited to French Inaugural JERUSALEM (JTA) — French President-elect Francois Mitterrand has invited Labor Party chair- man Shimon Peres to attend his inauguration on Sun- day. Peres might be unable to attend because of his total preoccupation in the elec- tion campaign. Peres has been on friendly terms with 'Mitterrand for more than two decades. The two men spoke by telephone the day after the French election. Peres told a Labor Party meeting that Mitterrand had responded to his (Peres) congratulations by express- ing the hope that Peres would "follow suit."
