awards for the league and
was co-chairman of league
programming.
She is secretary to the ed-
ucation assistance commit-
tee of the National Council
of Jewish Women and a life
member, on the member-
ship committee and board of
the Women's Division of the
National Conference of
Christians and Jews and a
life member.
She also is a life
member of Brandeis Uni-
versity National
Women's Committee and
Pioneer Women. Other
community activities in-
clude membership in
Women's American ORT,
Hadassah, American
Friends of Hebrew Uni-
versity, Sinai Hospital
Guild, delegate to the
Jewish Community
Council, Bnai Brith, Beth
Shalom Sisterhood,
Jewish Association for
Retarded Citizens, He-
brew Benevolent Society,
Zionist Organization,
American Jewish Con-
gress, Women's Auxiliary
of the Oakland County
Medical Society, Ameri-

Mrs. Schakne, a graduate
in speech pathology' from
the 'University of Michigan,
sang with the Beth Shalom
Choir for 10 years and was
presented an award.
