(Salesmen's samples) A grant of $29,000 to the Jewish Vocational Service has been approved by the Jewish Community Found- ation for the development of services to already- identified Jewish clients re- leased from institutions and now living in boarding and nursing homes in the inner city. This was the largest sum of the $57,300 approved by the foundation for four new demonstration projects. The foundation is a committee of United Jewish Charities, the Jewish Welfare Federa- tion's senior agency which manages endowment funds. Other new projects ap- proved for funding are a two-year Israel resource program at the Jewish Community Center, a Jewish Theater Associa- tion artists-in-residence program through the Na- tional Foundation for Jewish Culture (for Detroit and Ann Arbor cultural programming) and an educator-in-residence pro- gram sponsored by the United Hebrew Schools- Midrasha and the Educators' Council_ The community out- reach project was ap- proved for the first year of a two-year experimen- tal program, and it ex- tends the services al- ready begun under an earlier Jewish Commu- nity Foundation grant.
