Court Blocks Writer's Bequest to PLO NEW YORK — A New portion of the will of a York court has blocked a former Pulitzer prize win- ning journalist who be- queathed nearly $26,000 to the Palestine Liberation Organization, according to the Jewish Post and Opin- ion. The will of Fred Sparks, who died Feb. 18, was ad- mitted for probate. How- ever, a "construction pro- ceeding," withholding the part of the will which left $25,999 to the PLO, was in- stituted by Judge Marie Lambert. The court will de- termine whether an organ- ization declared "terrorist" by the United States can lawfully inherit a bequest. The late Mr. Sparks won the Pulitzer prize for inter- national reporting while working at the Chicago Daily News in 1951.
