ACCORDING TO Jack
Winton, Oscar's on North-
western is still not out of the
picture as Standard Club's
future home . . . Which
means that it is between
two places . . . Oscar's and
John Laffrey's Vineyards
Annex.
GET WELL WISHES

chef at Dominico's, Coolidge
between 11 and 12 Mile . . .

pathic Hospital.

AND THIS AD
MORE AND MORE
people are hearing about a
little place on Middlebelt
and 12 Mile called
Ginopolis' that crowds in
about 100 people ... and
serves a very limited menu
of no more than five or six
items ... (During the day,
there's also homemade chili
and soup.)
It's nothing fancy . . .
nothing pretentious . . . no
high class atmosphere ...
just one of the best 10-ounce
ground round hamburgers
being served anywhere ...
while maybe rubbing el-
bows with a sports or show
biz celebrity, bank
president or truck driver .. .
They come from all walks of
life to munch on the ground
rounds of Johnny and Pete
Ginopolis . because it's
not only juicy and tasty ...
but also the best meat
money can buy.
Ginopolis' is small ...
and come Wednesday,
people may be hanging
from the rafters to hear
one of the Midwest's
premiere songstresses ...
Pam Martin ... who'll
appear Wednesdays
through Saturdays from
9 p.m. with her trio of
backup musicians.
Pam sings everything .. .
and good, too . . . from bal-
lads to standards to top 40s
. . . to pops, etc.. . . Her ver-
satile vocal ability that in-
cludes Streisand medleys
have made her a prime per-
former.
The Ginopoi'is brothers
have only one problem .. .
where to put everybody
who'll come and hear Pam
sing . . . and turn a few steps
on the small dance floor.
But come September, dc-
cording to plans in the of-
fing, this problem will be
taken away . . . A new
Ginopolis' is expected to
break ground at the same
locale . . . with a seating
capacity of about 300
people.
There'll still be those
great 10-ounce ground
rounds (five ounce if you
can't eat that much) ...
but also along with the
regular steak sandwich,
kielbasa, onion rings, etc.
will be a many-itemed
food menu that'll include
ribs, pizza, etc.
And the celebs will still
come . . . along with
lawyers, doctors, factory
workers, etc. . . . because
Johnny and Pete have
something else they all
want . . . down-to-earth
friendliness that dollars
can't buy . . . Isn't it nice to
know people like this?
SMILING WAITRESS
DEPT. . . . Lynn D'Amico

taurant, 10 Mile and Green- ,
field.

WHEN
POMEROY returned from
service in the 1950s, there
weren't too many places on
the northwest side of town
to buy seafood . . . and his
became the first store to fly

country.
