Stollman Named for JNF-RCA Event

Phillip Stollman has been
named honorary chairman
of the May 22 (Lag
b'Omer)-May 24 Scholars
Festival, co-sponsored by
the Jewish National Fund
of Metropolitan Detroit and
the Detroit Region of the
Rabbinical Council of
America.
Stollman is religioils
chairman of JNF and global
chairman of the board of
trustee,s,of Bar-Ilan Univer-
sity. He is the recipient of
the Jewish Welfare Federa-
tion's Butzel Award.
He is active in efforts to
benefit Isra& Akiva He-
brew Day School, Bnai
Brith Hillel Foundation,
Yeshivath Beth Yehudah,
Yeshiva University and the
Albert Einstein College . of

PHILLIP STOLLMAN

Medicine. He was awarded
an honorary doctor of He-
brew letters degree by Bar-
Ilan and is on the executive
board of the national United
Jewish Appeal and the
Jewish Agency.

brother and sister-in-law,
Max and Frieda
Stollman, he was hon-
ored by JNF with the es-
tablishment of the
Stollman Family Park
and Recreation Area in
Israel.
The weekend will feature
as stholar-in-residence
Rabbi Leo Landman, na-
tional leader of the RCA and
chairman of its Israel com-
mission. The theme of the
Rabbi Landman's talks will
be "Halakha — A Tree of
Life." The festival has been
designated as Yemai Iyun
b'Halakha.
Project Renewal is help-
ing to revitalize 160 distres-
sed neighborhoods
throughout Israel.
