and litterateurs has just
been published by the Erna
Michael College of HebraiC
Studies at Yeshiva Univer-
sity to mark the fifth
yahrzeit of the late Dr.
Samuel Belkin.
`Under the title of
"Samuel Belkin Memorial
Volume," the 280-page col-
lection in Hebrew features
writings by 25 contributors,
all of whom are current or
former faculty -members or
alumni of Erna Michael
College.
The publication was
edited by Drs. Moshe
Carmilly, professor
emeritus of Jewish
studies, and Hayim Leaf,
professor of Hebrew lan-
guage and literature,
both of Yeshiva Univer-
sity.
The essays are divided
into five sections: philos-
ophy, education, Jewish
history, modern Hebrew lit-
erature, and Midrashic
.commentary. Included is an
article by Yeshiva Univer-
sity President Dr. Norman
Lamm, titled "The Sage and
the Saint in the Writings of
Maimonides."
