The festivities will begin with a parade that will leave the Bendix Corp. parking lot in Southfield at 1 p.m. and travel down Civic Center Drive to the South- field Civic Center. Throughout the day there will be an exhibi- tion at the Southfield Civic Center that will in- clude about 20 booths featuring .information and products relating to Israel. Among those participat- ing in the exhibition will be Nancy Good who was re- cently in Israel and has col- lected works by various Is- raeli artists which she will display and sell. There also will be a collection of art by Israeli and Jewish ar- tists which has been coordi- nated by Daniella Peleg. These items will all be for sale and will include etch- ings, watercolors, lithog- raphs and prints. Scheduled as part of the festivities are several in- formation booths which are sponsored by local Jewish organizations. Included will be displays by various Zionist groups, service groups and a display which will focus on education in Israel. Additionally, the Israel Independence Day Commit- tee will have several food booths where those attend- ing the celebration will be able to purchase such items as falafel, hot dogs, ham- burgers and soft drinks. Also available will be Is- raeli posters and Indepen- dence Day t-shirts. David Gubow is in charge of booths and ex- hibits and he said that there is still time for groups to obtain a booth.
