Keren Dorot program of the
Jewish National Fund.
Keren Dorot, or Dor l'Dor
(from generation to genera-
tion), was initiated by
Keren Kayemeth Lelsrael
in Jerusalem to strengthen
the ties between Israeli and
American Jewish youth:
Keren Dorot is the plan
under which a one-time do-
nation of $1,000 or $2,000 is
made in the name of a child,
grandchild or other young
relative or friend. Then, for
the next 10 or 20 years, re-
spectively, the designee re-
ceives a $100 check on his
birthday, at Hanuka or on
any other gift-giving occa-
sion. A certificate accom-
panies the gift check.
For details, call Percy
Kaplan, Detroit JNF execu-
tive director, 557-6644.

In 1843, when there were
40,000 Jews in the United
States, the Independent
Order of Bnai Brith was
founded. It was followed
soon by the Free Sons of Is-
rael.
