Detroiters Named by CJF-UJA

Detroiters Martin E. Cit-
rin, Daniel M. Honigman,
Mandell L. Berman, Lawr-
ence S. Jackier and Joel D.
Tauber were recently
named to the 1981 Council
of Jewish Federations-
United Jewish Appeal
Campaign Planning Task
Force.
At the Council of Jewish
Federations' quarterly
meetings, April 8-12 in

Washington, D.C., some of
the Detroiters took on a
leadership role. Task force
members assisted delegates
from American Jewish
communities in planning
for the 1981 Allied Jewish
Campaign - Israel Emer-
gency Fund.
The task force members
will be attending the UJA's
Campaign Policy meetings
in May and are expected to

Physicians Name
Dr. Axelrod

Dr. Arnold R. Axelrod,
chairman of Sinai Hospi-
tal's department of
medicine was recently
named governor-elect for
the Michigan branch of the
American College of Physi-
cians (ACP).
Chairman of Sinai's De-
partment of Medicine since
1974, Dr. Axelrod also holds
a professorship at Wayne
State University's school of
medicine. He is affiliated
with numerous professional
organizations including:
the International Society of
Hematology, the American
Society of Hematology, the
Central Society for Clinical
Research, the Wayne
County Medical Society, the
Michigan State Medical
Society and the American
Medical Association.
Dr. Axelrod was recently
presented with, the Out-
standing Faculty Award by
Wayne State University's
graduating medical class.

Opinion Research Institute
shows that 45.7 percent of
Israelis do not believe a
Labor Alignment govern-
ment will perform any bet-
ter than the Likud govern-
ment.
Only 33.8 percent be-
lieved that Labor would do a
better job with the nation's
problems.

Spring Blue Box Clearance
begins with the first day of
Hol Hamoed Pesach, which
this year falls on April 21,
and clearance days continue
through May 24, according
to Betty Silverman and
Anne Silver, -Blue Box co-
chairmen.
The box clearance will be
executed by volunteers from
Hadassah, Mizrachi
Women, Northwest Child
Rescue Women, Pioneer
Women, Women of Jewish
National Fund and Young
Women of Jewish National
Fund.
