Tauber were recently named to the 1981 Council of Jewish Federations- United Jewish Appeal Campaign Planning Task Force. At the Council of Jewish Federations' quarterly meetings, April 8-12 in Washington, D.C., some of the Detroiters took on a leadership role. Task force members assisted delegates from American Jewish communities in planning for the 1981 Allied Jewish Campaign - Israel Emer- gency Fund. Axelrod, chairman of Sinai Hospi- tal's department of medicine was recently named governor-elect for the Michigan branch of the American College of Physi- cians (ACP). Chairman of Sinai's De- partment of Medicine since 1974, Dr. Axelrod also holds a professorship at Wayne State University's school of medicine. He is affiliated with numerous professional organizations including: the International Society of Hematology, the American Society of Hematology, the Central Society for Clinical Research, the Wayne County Medical Society, the Michigan State Medical Society and the American Medical Association. Dr. Axelrod was recently presented with, the Out- standing Faculty Award by Wayne State University's graduating medical class.
