Bnai Moshe Foreign Debts TEL AVIV (ZINS) — Ac- cording to the Finance Ministry, Israel's foreign indebtedness has risen from $1,528 per person in 1953 to $4,410 per person ($17.4 bil- lion total) in 1980. U.S. assistance to Israel amounts to $6 million per day Bnai Moshe Sisterhood and Men's Club will hold their third annual Holocaust commemoration program 8 p.m. April 30 in the synagogue. Guest speaker will be Benjamin Mordecai Ben- Baruch, who will address the topic, "The Holocaust from Historical Sociology to Historical Memory." Par- ticipating in the program with Ben-Baruch will be Rabbi Stanley Rosenbaum and Cantor Louis _Klein. Ronna Rosenbaum and Louis Redmond are the co- chairmen for the evening. A native Detroiter, Ben-Baruch was graduated from the United Hebrew High School and attended the Midrasha College of Jewish Studies before going to New York to study in the joint pro- gram of the Jewish Theological Seminary and Columbia Univer- sity. He later transferred to the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, where he worked his way through school as a reporter for the Jerusalem Post and as a translator for the sociology department. Following his return to the United States, Ben- Baruch received his MA de- gree in education from Teachers College, Columbia University. and accepted an invitation to become a fel- low in the curriculum writ- ing program of the Melton Research Center. Ben-Baruch has been a teacher in the United He- brew Schools, superviser of the Kfar Ivri Hebrew speaking program of the United Hebrew Schools and the Fresh Air Society, principal of the Adat Shalom branch of United Hebrew Schools, and religious school di- rector of Temple Beth Jacob in Pontiac. He is affiliated with Cong. Beth Shalom. Ben-Baruch is a member of the Labor Zionist Al- liance and Histadrut Cam- paign Council. He is pursu- ing studies in the doctoral program in sociology and history at University of Michigan. ' Brandeis U.
