`Judy Asks the Question'
an Entertaining Pesach Tale

A local artist and writer
have created a delightful
modern Passover story for
children in "Judy Asks the
Question: A Passover
Story."
Written by Susan
Fingeroot Adler and illus-
trated by Jerrie Sasson
Laytner, the book tells the
tale of a child named Judy,
who wants to learn about
and participate in the
Passover Seder.
Appropriate for children
during this holiday period,
"Judy Asks the Question" is
the first in a series of Jewish
holiday stories to be pub-
lished by Mesdames Adler
and Laytner.
The paperbound book
has large type and is
geared expecially for
children age 2-8. The in-
side cover lists the Four
Questions in English and
in English translitera-
tion, and there is an af-
terworld by Rabbi David
A. Nelson of Cong. Beth
Shalom.
For children not yet in
religious school or to
enhance the knowledge al-

BOGATA, Colombia
(JTA) — The Commander of
the Peruvian Air Force, Lt.
Gen. Luis Arias Graziani,
has warned that if Israel
sells Kfir fighter jets to
Ecuador, Peru will expand
its air force to maintain an
"equilibrium."
Graziani raised the possi-
bility of an arms race be-
tween the two uneasy
neighbors following the
conclusion of an official
eight-day visit to Peru by
Italian Air Force Chief
General Alberto Bertoluchi
late last month. Graziani
said "If imbalances are pro-
duced (with Ecuador), Peru
will try all manner of main-
taining the equilibrium (of
forces)."
In January and February
Peru and Ecuador skir-
mished at three border posts
in the disputed territory of
the Coidillera del Condor,
which separates their two
countries in -a thick, un-
charted jungle zone. Rela-
tions have been strained be-
tween the two Andean na-
tions since 1942.
In that year they ended a
war fought over the Amazo-
nian jungle region they had
both claimed, by signing the
Protocolo de Rio de Janeiro.
Ecuador subsequently ab-
rogated the treaty, claiming
that unfair terms had been
forced on it by the signatory
powers: the United States,
Brazil, Argentina and
Chile.

Ghost Leaders?

TEL AVIV (ZINS) —
Haaretz reports that recent
memoirs by Yitzhak Rabin,
Ezer Weizman and Shimon
Peres were actually written
by ghost writers.
The newspaper reported,
however, that Moshe Dayan
is believed to have written
all of his own books.
