Bomb on Bus Injures Four TEL AVIV (JTA) — Four prople were slightly injured when a bomb exploded on a bus as-it was about to enter the central bus station in Tel Aviv March 29. The bus, from Netanya, had been halted just before its terminal station by an- other bus from Jerusalem from which passengers were being evacuated in a hurry after reports of a suspicious suitcase aboard. When the Netanya bus stopped most of its passengers got off. Only three women passengers and the driver were still aboard when the explosion occured in the rear baggage compartment. Police de- scribed the charge as of "small to medium" size. The suspicious package aboard the bus from Jerusalem was found to be harmless, but police began searching all buses entering the terminal. Ten Arabs were detained for question- ing. Premed Study Center at Brandeis WALTHAM, Mass. — Brandeis University is es- tablishing what is believed to be the first unified undergraduate premedical study and research facility at an American university. The Berlin Premedical Center is named for Boston surgeon Dr. David D. Be- rlin, who died in 1979, and whose estate will provide for its construction. The center will offer undergraduates three fea- tures: a sophisticated pro- gram to give premedical students the opportunity to engage in advanced re- search projects under the supervision of faculty mem- bers; the consolidation, in a single setting, of premedical research and courses; and the Berlin Commons, the hub of the center, which will offer students a specialized library and seminar facility equipped with audio-visual aids and other support materials. Meanwhile, a fellowship program that gives younger journalists the opportunity to widen their understand- ing of economics has been established at Brandeis. Known as the Minnie and Leo Sharfman Fellowship, the program will offer two fellowships for one semester of study each year in eco- nomics, sociology or other related fields. Candidates for Sharfman Fellowships must be be- tween the approximate ages of 25 and 35. Applications will be made to the Brandeis economics department, where a three-person com- mittee will make annual choices. The grant of $37,515 was made by the National Endowment for the Humanities to the Central Agency for Jewish Educa- tion (CAJE) to provide out- reach library services to senior citizens in the Greater. Miami Jewish and Hispanic communities. The grant was sought for a two-year demonstration project of the Miami, South Broward, Fort Lauderdale and Palm Beach federa- tions. The goal is to seek funding from federal state and local sources for social service programs in the four communities. The $37,515 grant sup- plements the $45,015 total cost of the project. The dif- ference will be compensated by CAJE, which will pro- vide materials, space and equipment.
