AMOS GANOR Special guest at the leadership reception will be Israel Ambassador Amos Ganor, director of personnel in the Israel Ministry for Foreign Af- fairs. Ganor was named Israel's envoy to Liberia in August 1973. When Liberia severed relations with Israel later that year, he was appointed consul of information and cultural affairs at the Con- sulate General of Israel in New York where he later served as deputy consul general. A career officer in the Is- rael Ministry for Foreign Affairs since 1957, Ganor began his service abroad the following year, represent- ing his country for four years at the Consulate Gen- eral of Israel in Montreal. Born and educated in Tel Aviv, Ambassador Ganor took part in Israel's War of Independence and served for four years in Israel's De- fense Forces. Upon his dis- charge in 1952, he enrolled in the Tel Aviv School of Law and Economics from which he received his BA degree in economics. Dur- ing his period of service at Israel's Consulate in Montreal, he obtained a de- gree in political science from Sir George Williams University.
