400 Attend
BB Brunch

Some 400 persons con-
vened at Cong. Shaarey
Zedek on March 22 for the
15th annual Bnai Brith
Presidents' Brunch, and
heard Congressman Jim
Blanchard.
The brunch, given in
cooperation with Jewish
National Fund, honored
Bnai Brith Men's and
Women's Council
presidents Floyd Bornstein
and Evelyn Tichik with the
planting of gardens of trees
in their names in the Bnai
Brith Forest of Peace in the
Galilee. Presidents and
trees and tributes chairmen
of all lodges, chapters and
units were also honored.
The brunch was also dedi-
cated to the memory of the
late Myer Littky. Rabbi
David A. Nelson of Cong.
Beth Shalom eulogized
Littky. Littky's son, Robert,
who is now Beth Shalom's
president, conducted the
Birkat Hamazon.
Rep. Blanchard told
the audience of the posit-
ive and negative aspects
of the Reagan Adminis-
tration's policies toward
Israel and the Middle
East.
He said the Reagan Ad-
ministration is drawing a
more forceful line of opposi-
tion towards terrorism and
has forcefully supported Is-
rael in United Nations
forums.
Negatively, Blanchard
pointed to the Administra-
tion's intention to sell offen-
sive attachments to Saudi
Arabia for its F-15 jet fight-
ers. He also questioned the
Israel ramifications of the
Reagan Administration's
energy policy.
