54 Friday, March 21, 1981 THE DETROIT JEWISH NEWS Berlin May Name Street for Owens Near Stadium VIENNA (JTA) — The mayor of West Berlin and the city council have agreed to a proposal by the Simon Wiesenthal Documentation Center here to perform an act of moral restitution by renaming the avenue lead- ing to the Berlin Olympics Stadium after Jesse Owens, the Black American Olym- pic runner who won four gold medals in the 1936 Games.
