Likud Cuts
Election Gap

JERUSALEM (JNI) —
Political pundits are pre-
dicting and easy Labor vic-
tory in the June 30 Israel
elections but they might yet
be surprised.
A Jerusalem Post poll
shows that Prime Minister
Begin's ruling Likud coali-
tion has gained nearly four
percentage points since
January, while the opposi-
tion Labor Party has fallen
by slightly over five per-
cent.
If elections were held to-
day, Labor would still claim
52 of the Knesset's 120
seats, compared to 42 seats
for the now dominant coali-
tion of the Likud and reli-
gious parties. Twenty-five
percent of the electoratt is
still undecided.
