• THE DETROIT JEWISH NEWS 10 Friday, March 21, 1981 Polakoff Retires; Friedman Will Head JTA Washington Bureau NEW YORK (JTA) — Joseph Polakoff, the Jewish Telegraphic Agency's Washington Bureau chief for the last 10 years, will re- tire April 3, it was an- nounced by Martin Fox, JTA president. David Friedman, a staff writer for the JTA in its New York office for the last eight years, will be trans- ferred to Washington as bureau chief.
