Energy Expert Will Speak
at Community Meeting Here

Dr. Schulman has been in
the energy field for more
than 35 years. In the educa-
tional field, he has served as
a visiting lecturer at a
number of educational in-
stitutions and was ap-
pointed to the Committee on
Academic Excellence of the
Federal Graduate School at
the Department of Agricul-
ture. Currently, he is execu-
tive director of the Institute
for Responsible Energy Pol-
icy and acts as an indepen-
dent consultant, lecturer
and writer on energy.
Regarding Jewish activi-
ties, Dr. Schulman is past
president of the Washing-
ton chapter of the American
Technion Society. He is an
elected member of the
executive board of the
Jewish Community Council
of Greater Washington and
has been appointed to the
national energy committees
of the Zionist Organization
of America and the Na-
tional Jewish Community
Relations Advisory Council.
He is a graduate of Brook-
lyn College, Georgetown
University and the Univer-
sity of California at
Berkley.
Since the Yom Kippur
War, Dr. Schulman has
been engaged in numer-
ous activities on the local
and national scene aimed
to limit the growth of
Arab influence and
power in America.
Dr. Schulman formed the
Trade-Energy Information
Center, briefed many jour-
nalists, testified before the
U.S. House of Representa-
tives and Senate, spoken
throughout the country, or-
ganized rallies and task
forces and collaborated with
many friends of freedom. He
is an avid speaker on
Zionism, energy and the
Middle East conflict and
published the pamphlet
"The Arab War Against The
Jews" in 1977. He was the
1976 Seaboard Region
Circuit-Rider Scholar to
Jewish communities in
North and South Carolinas.
The public is invited free
of charge.

Singer Honored

BONN (JTA) — Isaac
Bashevis Singer, who won
the Nobel Prize for litefa-
ture in 1978, the first Yid-
dish writer so honored, has
been awarded the 1981
Buber-Rosenzweig Prize by
the German Society for
Christian-Jewish Coopera-
tion in Dortmund.
