Science Winner

Eliav Barr, a student at
Birmingham Groves High
School, was one of five stu-
dents selected at the recent
Junior Science and
Humanities Symposium at
Wayne State University to
participate in the national
symposium April 29-May 2
at the U.S. Military
Academy at West Point.
His paper and research
was on "Hemodialysis —
Technical and Humanita-
rian Aspects."

Jonathan Michael Licht
in a recent ceremony at
Temple Israel. The bride is
the daughter of Mr. and
Mrs. Paul Amber of South-
field. Parents of the brideg-
room are Gerald Licht of
Southfield and the late Mrs.
Phylis Licht. The new Mrs.
Licht attended the Univer-
sity of Michigan and was
graduated from Case-
Western Reserve Univer-
sity. Her husband was
graduated from U-M and
earned an MD degree from
the Wayne State University
Medical School. He is a resi-
dent in neurology at the
University of California, Ir-
vine. The couple are resid-
ing in Huntington Beach,
Calif.

MISS PACHOLSKI

Mr. and Mrs. Frank R.
Pacholski of Troy announce
the engagement of their
daughter, Deborah Ann, to
Dr. Alan Edward Zloto, son
of Mrs. Dolly Zloto of South-
field and the late Mr. Morris
Zloto.
Miss Pacholski was
graduated from Eastern
Michigan University with a
Bachelor of Science degree
in public administration.
She is pursuing a Master of
Business degree in finance
at Wayne State University.
Her fiance earned a'
Bachelor of Science degree
in zoology and a Master of
Public Health degree in
epidemiology at the Uni-
versity of Michigan. He was
graduated from the College
of Osteopathic Medicine at
Wayne State University
and is completing a resi-
dency in internal medicine
at Detroit Osteopathic Hos-
pital.
A July wedding is
planned.

Nine neo-Nazis, members
of the Westland-based "SS
Group," held a "rally" in
Birmingham's Shain Park
on Saturday afternoon. The
group was heckled by
passersby but there were no
incidents.
Birmingham police said
the group did not need a
permit to meet in the park
because they were not
parading.
The group carried

swastika signs which
said "America Awake,"
"White Power" and
"Smash Communism."
Police later found a suit-
case filled with wood in the
park that was wired to look
like a bomb.
